When is the last time you saw yourself for your true loving and powerful nature?

For most of us, it has been too long. We get wrapped up in narratives about ourselves that are unloving and unhelpful. We start making decisions out of habit or fear instead of joy and trust. This gets in the way of our true potential, the paths we’re meant to walk, and ultimately, our personal peace and happiness… which is not what we want.

This is why I do what I do. I am on a mission to help you own your power and embody your authentic self. Seeing your empowered, grounded self in a piece of art helps shift your inner narrative. This process helps you see yourself differently and the result, the portrait, acts as a visual reminder of the empowered person you are destined to be.

“You kill me, Elke. I love it. You capture moments other people don’t see.”

Savannah

“I am so speechless. The accuracy is divinely impressive, but it’s how you interpreted and captured my energy that makes the final piece so astounding and meaningful… I know this is something precious that will have an evolving impact.”

THE PROCESS

  1. Short chat

We have a short chat to get on the same page and set intentions for our time together. If we are all good to go, then we start solidifying next steps on our call!

  2. Get ready for our session

You would fill out a short questionnaire, answering a few questions about yourself. This gives me a window into your world, allowing me to prepare for our session and guide us in the most helpful way.

  3. Session

We have our in-person session! Our conversation will be an intimate exploration of where you are right now in your life, and while we’re talking, I’ll be taking your photograph.

  4. Drawing the portrait

After I’m back in my studio after our session, I listen to the recording of our conversation and go through all of the photos. Then I will draw the portrait using the official reference image.

  5. Portrait reveal and reflection

You receive the portrait and see your authentic self in graphite!

If you’re happy to participate in a reflection chat, we would talk through the experience, what it has meant to you, and what you see when you look at the portrait.

 FAQs

  • After! Drawing the portrait takes at least 10 hours, and I’m sure you don’t want to sit completely still for that long. ;)

I will be taking photos throughout our in-person conversation. Afterwards, I will draw the portrait based on the chosen reference image.

  • Typically, I travel to someone’s home to have the session there. What is most important is to have a quiet, distraction-free environment where no one would interrupt us.

If this is not possible at your home or if you have someplace else in mind, then we will get creative and explore our options! We could always use my studio in Gunnison, Colorado.

  • Yes! I am open to doing our session remotely, especially if the circumstances necessitate it! This is something great to talk through on a 1-1 basis to explore our options.

Based on doing both in-person and remote sessions, I have found that sharing space in person allows for a special connection. I’m biased towards in-person sessions but understand it’s not always feasible.

  • A reasonable price window would be $500-$1,200 total. This is a large range because each piece will be different! We would have to factor in any required travel, the size of the piece, and the total draw time.

At the same time, I am an advocate of the exchange economy and would welcome any offers to exchange goods or services for my work.

  • This varies! Some clients prefer to be part of the decision-making process, choosing their favorite image(s) from the ones I pick out. Others clients prefer to pass this entirely to me, giving me the liberty to choose what I believe to be best.
