The Process
30-minute consultation
We have a 30-minute chat to feel out if we are the right fit to work together. If we are, then we start solidifying next steps on our call!
Get ready for our session
You would fill out a short questionnaire, answering a few questions about yourself. This gives me a window into your world, allowing me to prepare for our session and guide us in the most helpful way.
Session
We have our in-person session! Our conversation will be an intimate exploration of where you are right now in your life, and while we’re talking, I’ll be taking your photograph.
Drawing the portrait
After I’m back in my studio after our session, I listen to the recording of our conversation and go through all of the photos. Then I will draw the portrait using the official reference image.
Portrait reveal and reflection
You receive the portrait and see your authentic self in graphite!
If you’re happy to participate in a reflection chat, we would talk through the experience, what it has meant to you, and what you see when you look at the portrait.

After! Drawing the portrait takes at least 10 hours, and I’m sure you don’t want to sit completely still for that long. ;)
I will be taking photos throughout our in-person conversation. Afterwards, I will draw the portrait based on the chosen reference image.

Typically, I travel to someone’s home to have the session there. What is most important is to have a quiet, distraction-free environment where no one would interrupt us.
If this is not possible at your home or if you have someplace else in mind, then we will get creative and explore our options!

I am open to doing our session remotely if the circumstances necessitate it! This is something great to talk through on a 1-1 basis to explore our options.
However, I am biased! Based on doing both in-person and remote sessions, I have found that sharing space in person allows for greater connection. It also allows me to understand and depict you more powerfully.

Each piece will be different! Pricing will depend on a variety of factors, including any required travel, the size of the piece, and the total draw time.

This varies! Some clients prefer to be part of the decision-making process, choosing their favorite image(s) from the ones I pick out. Others clients prefer to pass this entirely to me, giving me the liberty to choose what I believe to be best.
